Time marches on and so have we in our classes. Most of us are learning our new schedules and locker times so that is great. Sixth graders continue to read and explore Charlotte's adventure in True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle by Avi. This is one of my favorite novels and we are almost to one of the most exciting parts- it's so hard for me not to tell the students!
Seventh graders are working hard on revising their memoirs- in fact we will be in the computer lab the next two days conferencing and working on them. I am really enjoying having both 7th grade classes daily. In Halloween terms, they are treats and not tricks!!
Eighth graders have shifted contents and are now in my Arts/Humanities class. We have studied Bunraku and Japanese Culture and today we had a quiz in which most students scored very well. We also visited the Study Island A/H topic of Elements of Drama and I'm proud to say that all students received their Blue Ribbons- way to go 8C!!
Remember this is Drug Awareness Week and Thursday students may wear '70s fashions and Friday is camouflage day!! That should be exciting.
Have a great Halloween and enjoy your four day weekend (remember no school next Monday or Tuesday) and I'll talk more next week.
